Leadership opportunities are open to all students, and those with strong leadership skills can take on roles in academics, culture, sports, or service. International students can also apply to be International Prefects in Year 13.
We offer an extremely large number of clubs, including philosophy, robotics, writing, anime, chess, astronomy, and dance. Students can sign up for as many clubs as they like.

We encourage all students to participate in sports at Westlake Girls. We offer many sports for serious athletes and those who want to play for fun.
Playing sports helps students stay healthy, build team spirit, and develop leadership and social skills. Our sports staff and volunteers are passionate about giving students the best training and support.
For international students learning English, playing sport is a fantastic way to improve language skills quickly!
Westlake’s award-winning music groups are known internationally for their excellence.
Our ensembles regularly win national awards, tour abroad, and compete internationally. We have pathways for musicians of all levels to grow and improve.
Working with Westlake Boys High School, we offer mixed ensembles, allowing students to socialise through music. The two Westlake schools have been top performers in regional, national, and international music competitions for many years.
At Westlake Girls, students can explore and grow in any style of dance they enjoy. They perform at House assemblies, lunchtime shows, and the annual Dance Showcase, where they also learn behind-the-scenes skills like stage management and makeup. For passionate dancers, we have specialised Dance Troupes.
We offer expert teaching in many dance styles from different cultures.
Drama helps students understand the world and their place in it. It explores different cultures, characters, and beliefs, assisting students to learn about themselves and others.
At Westlake, Drama is taught from Year 9 to Year 13, where students create plays, rehearse scripts, and learn the history and power of theatre.
We also offer drama activities like the annual productions with Westlake Boys, theatresports, and the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival. These give students the chance to perform for an audience, work with other schools, and for seniors to mentor younger students.
